Arctic's Journey: The Fjords of TromsΓΈ, The Nirvana Norway

"Universe Sparks some Magic that is so Mysterious YET so Serene."

What are fjords?
The word "fjord" comes from the Old Norse word which means "a lake-like body of water".
It is a narrow inlet of water flow from the ocean that come together and mixed with fresh water from the glacier, snow and rain.
The combinations of different water sources have a brackish compound which is why there are many fishes and other organisms living under it.
This is the photo I got from google.

How does fjord form?
The ice of glaciers carried along stones and gravel, which gradually erode the bedrock.
Over thousands of years, the creates narrow U-shaped valleys. When the glaciers melted at the end of the last ice age, the sea level rose greatly. This caused the valleys to fill with water and become the fjords we know today.

Be carried away by the peace and tranquility of the scenarios that will gradually present themselves to your eyes with unique landscapes, mountains, white sandy beaches and small, cute villages. But pay attention to the wildlife that we may encounter too: sea eagles, reindeer, moose and otters, are just a few examples and they are just around the corner.
In total, there are 1190 of fjords in Norway, wondering I can cover how many of them before I get too old to travel.

Arctic Fjord Tour
By Framtours
4 hours included lunch
Price : NOK2780 / SGD358 for 2 people

Via a minibus and a friendly guide, we set off to the beyond. I never seen a fjord before and Norwegian fjords are the best icons for the country where beautiful deep valleys and fjords are well scatter all over the country.

Take Note: Remember to eat breakfast, at least 70% full, it is very cold, you need some food to burn and its limited access for food in the wild.😝😝

Report at tour office FRAMTours at 0945hrs which is located behind Radisson Blu which is also considered opposite of Scandic Ishavshotel

Checking his work again.

Our Minibus is here.
Driver is very polite; the vehicle is clean and comfortable - it's Mercs afterall.

Scenic ride on the way, though it was pitch white all over, it still feels so beautiful.
The bus made the way from TromsΓΈ to the outskirt areas, passing through roads made out of valleys.
We even came across wild reindeers and moose during the drive that there is no chance taking photos.

We are familiar with this kind Trekking food served as our son Doran asked me to buy back from Denmark to Singapore for him to try. There are different flavors like curry, teriyaki and many more.
I found one packet in my cupboard, it is dessert for those hikers up in the mountains or wild.

Visiting TromsΓΈ in Arctic Norway was a dream come true.
We stayed in the Arctic Circle, Witnessing the glory of Northern Lights, Meeting SΓ‘mi people, eating food made of Reindeers and lots more.
Visiting the Arctic is not the average kind of holiday that everyone wants or suitable to everyone, but we been here and done that, it was so idyllic, so special and so extraordinary holiday for the two of us.
